Role Summary
In partnership with the MD of Finance, Ops & People, the Director, People will lead the development of People strategies and policies in support of values and culture, diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB), annual work plans, organizational growth, and scale, specifically in the areas of People systems, compensation and benefits administration, recruitment and selection, compliance, and talent management (onboarding, performance management practices, training and development for staff, etc.). The Director, People will be a driver in supporting CLI living its values and mission of creating a “healthy and equitable future for all”.
The Director, People is a hands-on people leader who is both strategic (a thought partner) and tactical (a doer). This role will ideate, design, and execute while being able to think big picture and communicate directly with the Leadership team and Managers. They will focus on People practices and objectives to provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, and ongoing development of a best-in-class workforce.
You will:
Own the development of the People function at CLI to align with the org’s mission & values
Drive People Team execution of designing systems, resolving problems, and implementing change
Take a consultative approach to partnering with Leadership Team and Managers to provide people advice and counsel
Guide management and employee actions by developing and updating policies and guidelines; communicating and enforcing organization values

You have experience in:
Progressive leadership in People Ops (5-7 yrs) and people management (3+ yrs)
Designing & implementing People strategies across the employee lifecycle
Establishing systems and processes to attract, develop, engage, and retain talented individuals
Adopting labor law and employment best practices, as well as recent changes and trends in practices
